Roraback Opens Strong in 5th, Raises $237,687 in 72 Days.
State Senator Andrew Roraback raised a hefty $237,687 during the first fundraising quarter of his campaign for the Republican nomination for Congress in the 5th District. The Goshen Republican’s haul came from 394 individuals, ninety percent of them from Connecticut, his campaign disclosed Sunday.
Roraback became the fifth Republican to enter the race when he began his campaign in October. He faces Justin Bernier, Mike Clark, Mark Greenberg and Lisa Wilson-Foley in the Republican competition for the seat being vacated by incumbent Democrat Christopher Murphy, who is running for the United States Senate. The Goshen Republican represents the 30th District, which includes 15 towns in the sprawling congressional district.
