Saturday Caucus for Finance Committee Democrats. BYOL.

Democratic leaders are hoping to forge some unity today before lobbyists can start picking off members of the Capitol village after Governor Dannel P. Malloy announces his spending and tax proposals on Wednesday. Democratic members of the legislature’s finance committee have been summoned to a caucus at the Legislative Office Building for a rare Saturday confab from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Members have been told to bring their own lunch. Plenty of appetites will be lost if the meeting includes an early look at the plan to raise and expand taxes that Malloy will ask committee members to support in the struggle to fill the state’s staggering budget deficit.
