Schrag Out at DEEP. Says He’s a “Distraction”.
State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Deputy Commissioner has resigned after revelation that he was involved in a menacing phone message to the head of a conservative women’s group last week. Schrag did not address or clarify his convoluted explanation that someone used his phone and a voice recording to leave a message on Conservative Women’s Forum leader Cynthia David’s voicemail near midnight last Thursday warning her that her emails were being “observed” by the “Democratic Electronic Monitoring Service.”
In accepting Schrag’s resignation, beleaguered DEEP Commissioner Daniel Esty made no reference to the ugly incident that forced Schag to quit. Esty did not provide details of the investigation that his office said he would conduct into the call to David that included Schrag’s voice and phone number.
