Score One for a Meritocracy.

The Courant’s Jon Lender performed a public service when he exposed the Rell administration’s manipulations to plant friends in the civil service.  Today his persistence paid off when one-time pizza chef Debra Hinman last her $61,664 a year job. Hinman is the mother of Jamie Hinman who worked in Rell’s office for chief of staff M. Lisa Moody.

Debra Hinman was a few days short of the civil service protection that comes with holding a job for six months.  She’s been removed from the position by the Malloy administration.  Others should follow.
