SEBAC Asks Malloy to “Reconvene” Negotiations.

State employee union leaders, rebuked by their members, are asking the Malloy administration to reconvene concession negotiations in a bid to thwart longstanding SEBAC rules safeguarding health and retirement benefits. Chief negotiator Daniel Livingston made the request in a letter to Governor Dannel P. Malloy today.

SEBAC leaders are said to be contemplating adopting changes in their rules before submitting an alternated concession agreement to members. No word on how SEBAC will address the salary increases that took effect on Friday, averting the two-year wage freeze that was to start July 1st.
