Sources: Legislative Democrats and Malloy Reach Budget Deal.
The state legislature’s Democratic majority has reached an agreement to support Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s two-year budget that increases taxes on working men and women to fund spending by state government. The deal will include a crossed fingers provision that Malloy and his state employee union political allies can reach their own agreement on $1 billion in worker concessions for each of the next two years.
The Democrats are meeting in a caucus today at the State Capitol.
