The Double Act of “Broke and Broken” Finds an Audience.

Former Ambassador Tom Foley’s advertising blitz declaring Connecticut “Broke and broken” is paying the sort of dividends a venture capitalist/takeover artist expects to see on his investment.  Today’s Rasmussen poll has the wealthy Greenwich Republican bursting into a lead over Democrats Ned Lamont (by 7) and Dan Malloy (by 9).  The results suggest blue Connecticut may be better terrain than expected for Republicans this year. Foley is viewed very favorably by only 10% of those polled, but gets support from 44% of those surveyed in a contest with Lamont. In a February Rasmussen poll, Lamont bested Foley by 3 points.

Storm clouds that could cause Lamont some trouble:  he’s viewed very unfavorably by 22% of those surveyed, twice those with the same opinion of likely primary opponent Malloy.

Lieutenant Governor Michael Fedele trails both Lamont and Malloy by 3 points.
