State Democrats took aim at Foley by asking why he has refused to disclose the details of his arrest on a felony charge arising out of a mysterious night on Long Island that ended with Foley in jail.

Foley, Daily Ructions readers will recall, was parsimonious with the facts when seeking Senate confirmation as United States ambassador to Ireland. You could make the case that he did not tell the truth because most people know when they’ve been charged with a felony. A jail cell concentrates the mind and produces memories the miscreant is unlikely to forget.

It could be this simple. Foley and Malloy may be right about each other.
