This Great Day in History.

Margaret Thatcher took office on this day 32 years ago.  She revived freedom, prosperity, and opportunity in Britain, reversing the managed decline policies of her regrettable predecessors.

She deployed conviction and persistence in defeating socialism at home and communism abroad.

We remain in her debt.  Here she is entering No. 10 for the first time as prime minister.

When others faltered in the long fight, she declared:
