Three Years Late, Rell Endorses Fedele.

Nobody’s claiming it got lost in the mail three years ago. In 2010, a Governor M. Jodi Rell endorsement of Michael Fedele would have delivered a gubernatorial primary victory to Snow White’s lieutenant governor in his close race with Greenwich Republican Tom Foley. Fedele thought at the start of his race to succeed the Brookfield Republican that she had privately offered her support. She must have been distracted on one of her reading days when they conversed. Rell delivered a fatal blow to Fedele’s Republican nomination when she refuted his claim.
Today she endorsed her loyal lieutenant’s bid to become mayor of Stamford. Rell hail’s Fedele’s “unmatched blend of business and government experience.” That sentence in 2010 might have made Fedele governor. Cutting a spot in the final days of the fall 2010 campaign for Foley might have pushed him over the finish line first in his 6,000 vote loss to Democrat and Working Families Governor Dannel P. Malloy. The milk and cookie lady did not, however, make an endorsement commercial for Foley.
