Video: New Britain councilman’s wife assaulted at nominating convention.

There’s nothing so perplexing in politics as a bitter winner. One made herself known at tonight’s New Britain Democratic nominating convention. Watch the upper left corner of the video. A woman strikes Alison Cappucio, the wife of council member Neil Connors, in the back of the head .

Connors was not nominated Thursday night. Cappuccino made her dismay known with a sign reminding fellow Democrats that her husband’s replacement, Luz Ortiz Luna, has offered strong support to Republican mayor Erin Stewart in the past. Stewart is not seeking a fifth term.

The Luna supporter hits Connors, retreats, and slowly advances again. Connors, Daily Ructions has learned, filed a criminal complaint with the local police.
